The ship docks at King’s Wharf, home of the former Royal Navy Dockyard. The area is undergoing a magnificient renovation with shops, historic buildings, restaurants, and even a very nice and convenient beach called Snorkle Bay. There are water taxis there to take you all over the island and day passes can be purchased on board the ship.
Hamilton is a quaint town with upscale shops, restaurants and coffee bars. It makes for a nice stop, just 10 minutes from King’s Wharf by ferry. St Georges is the old town, and looks out to a gorgeous inlet with historic buildings and shops as well.
But let’s not forget why people come to Bermuda. Its for the lovely beaches and Horseshoe Bay is a 10 minute bus ride from King’s Wharf and worth the visit. Elbow Beach is quite convenient to Hamilton. And there are plenty of others inbetween.
So next summer when you are trying to figure out what to do with the family that is fun and different, consider a 5-day cruise to Bermuda. The pictures you get going under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge will be awesome!
